IPMS Marietta Scale Modelers is a Georgia chapter of the International Plastic Modelers’ Society (IPMS/USA) serving model builders throughout Marietta, Kennesaw, and the greater Atlanta area. The club brings together hobbyists with interests spanning aircraft, armor, automobiles, ships, figures, science fiction, spacecraft, dioramas, and virtually every corner of scale modeling, providing a welcoming community where builders can share their work, exchange techniques and ideas, improve their skills, and enjoy the camaraderie of the hobby. At this show, IPMS Marietta members are opening up their personal stashes and collections, giving attendees an opportunity to browse and purchase an assortment of model kits accumulated by club members over the years. The selection may include older releases, discontinued kits, unusual subjects, duplicates, collectible kits, and plenty of unexpected finds, making their tables well worth exploring for builders searching for their next project—or that elusive kit they’ve been trying to track down. Every purchase also provides a great opportunity to meet fellow modelers, talk about the hobby, and support an active local modeling club while giving some great kits from members’ collections a new home and, hopefully, a place on someone else’s workbench.
