IPMS/USA is the United States branch of the International Plastic Modelers’ Society and one of the organizations that has helped shape, connect, and promote the American scale-modeling community for more than six decades. Established in the United States in 1964, IPMS/USA has grown into an all-volunteer national organization dedicated to promoting scale modeling while giving builders opportunities to meet fellow modelers, exchange knowledge and techniques, improve their skills, participate in local clubs, and enjoy friendly competition at local, regional, and national events. Today, its network includes more than 220 active chapters organized into regions across the country, creating connections among thousands of modelers with interests spanning aircraft, armor, automobiles, ships, figures, dioramas, science fiction, spacecraft, Gundam and mecha, and virtually every other corner of the hobby. IPMS/USA also supports the hobby through its Modelers’ Journal, extensive online modeling resources and product reviews, chapter support, contests and conventions, educational programs, and relationships with manufacturers and other organizations throughout the modeling world. At the top of its event calendar is the annual IPMS/USA National Convention, a summertime tradition dating back to the organization’s earliest years that brings modelers from across the United States and around the world together for several days of incredible models, vendors, seminars, tours, competition, and—perhaps most importantly—the opportunity to reconnect with friends and make new ones. IPMS/USA will be joining us at ModelCon EagleQuest, giving attendees an opportunity to stop by their table, learn more about the organization, ask questions about membership, chapters, programs and upcoming events, and join IPMS/USA right here at the show.
