Danger Island Models is a specialty resin model-kit company focused on producing high-quality fantasy, horror, science-fiction, classic cinema, and character figure kits for serious builders and collectors. Conceived in 2018 by artist and sculptor Jeff Wehenkel and longtime publishing veteran and Monsterscene editor Steve Smith, the company made its public debut at WonderFest USA in 2024. Danger Island Models works with respected sculptors and professional casters to create highly detailed resin kits, including original subjects, cinema-inspired figures, and officially licensed tributes to classic modeling properties. Its releases have included figures such as Margiana from The Golden Voyage of Sinbad, the Countess Karnstein series, and new interpretations and reissues connected to the legendary Aurora Monster Scenes line. With products ranging from large 1/6-scale character figures to smaller fantasy miniatures and elaborate resin display pieces, Danger Island Models combines the spirit of the classic “garage kit” hobby with modern sculpting, casting, packaging, and presentation, with the goal of producing collectible kits that are as enjoyable to build and paint as they are to display.
