C4 Kits and Collectibles is a new specialty resin figure company founded by Christian Eckert, born from a longtime appreciation for the work of renowned figure sculptor Roberto Von Behr and a desire to preserve and reintroduce some of Roberto’s classic sculptures to the garage-kit community. A collector and admirer of Von Behr’s work for years, Christian eventually had the opportunity to take that passion a step further by acquiring the original sculpture and production rights to Randy Van Dyke’s Morale Support, a classic Roberto Von Behr sculpt. Bringing the piece back into production became the first release from C4 Kits—and the beginning of something much larger. Since then, Christian has continued seeking out original Von Behr sculptures and acquiring the rights to reproduce select pieces. C4 Kits is being built around a simple idea: give longtime collectors another opportunity to own and build these increasingly difficult-to-find figures while introducing Roberto’s distinctive work to a new generation of figure painters and garage-kit enthusiasts. At the C4 Kits booth, attendees will find primarily 1/6-scale resin figure kits, along with select 1/4-scale pieces, showcasing Von Behr’s unmistakable approach to the classic pinup figure—beautiful character design, elegant sculpting, and subjects that are as enjoyable to paint as they are to display. Beyond producing resin kits, C4 Kits is working to preserve a small piece of garage-kit history—not only by bringing original sculptures out of private collections and back onto hobby workbenches, but also by documenting the stories behind them. Whenever possible, C4 Kits is researching and preserving the history of each piece, including its origins, original production, artists, and the people and ideas that helped bring it to life. The goal is to ensure that these sculptures and their stories are not lost to time, while giving collectors and painters the opportunity to build, paint, display, and enjoy them once again.
