The Armor Modeling and Preservation Society (AMPS) is an international organization dedicated to promoting the hobby of scale armor modeling while fostering greater knowledge, appreciation, and preservation of armored vehicles and mechanized military history. Founded in 1993, AMPS brings together modelers, historians, collectors, restorers, and armor enthusiasts through local chapters, educational resources, publications, and modeling events. The organization publishes its Boresight journal, featuring modeling techniques, product reviews, historical research, and information about preserved military vehicles, and hosts an annual International Convention featuring seminars, vendors, historical displays, and a major armor modeling competition. AMPS is particularly known for its distinctive judging system, which evaluates each model on its own workmanship, artistic achievement, and historical accuracy rather than directly competing models against one another, with constructive feedback designed to help modelers improve their skills. Through modeling, education, competition, and support for the preservation of historic armored vehicles, AMPS has become a prominent organization within the international armor-modeling community.
